As Promised, You Are the First to Know

Registration for the three week Holiday Storytime and Tales & Tunes For Tots 2007 will take place on Thursday November 15, 2007 at 9AM. We will be accepting registrations online or in person. If you have not tried registering online, please do so. It is quick, easy and works remarkably well. It is actually faster to register at home.

Please remember to register your child for the age appropriate class. To determine which class is age appropriate for your child, register him or her for the class labeled the age that he or she is on the date of registration. The Children’s Department is not responsible for any mistakes made by parents or guardians in online registration and reserves the right to remove children who are inappropriately registered.

If you register online when the box prompts you to enter your name, type in your child’s name. Your name should not appear anywhere in the registration process. Do not add any participants unless you are registering a second child in the same class. If you have any questions about registering online please contact the Children’s Department at 628-0947 X3 before the morning of registration.

A Small Shipment Has Arrived!

The last of the discontinued bags has arrived. If you are one of the parents watching this blog today, congratulations! Come on down to the library and get your 1000 Books Before Kindergarten kit for you and your child. Once again, many thanks to the Friends of the Library who make this program possible.

New Role For The Blog

Many of you have been receiving emails for the Children’s Department announcements. We will continue our email list for a while, but we are going to transition to using this blog as a way to announce upcoming events and programs. All announcements from the Children’s Department will be posted on the Parent’s Connection blog first, before any emails or newspaper postings. If you are interested in any of our limited programs, please be sure to watch the blog. You can add the Parent’s Connection to your iGoogle page or any other feed reader. An iGoogle page or feed reader sends you notification of any new Parent’s Connection blog entries. This free service is much easier than checking the blog on a daily basis.

Update to the update

Thank you so much for all your inquiries on our 1000 Books program. We will have a few kits available very soon. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the beautiful parent’s bags we had been using. I bought all they had left. I’m on the look out for new bags and will post on the blog as soon as I have any more news.
