Get Ready For Spring Registration
February 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment
There may be snow outside, but it’s time to look ahead to spring. Registration for Spring Storytime, Tales & Tunes For Tots & Playdate will take place on Thursday March 6, 2008, beginning at 9:00AM. You may register online or in person at the Children’s Services Desk.
Registration is open to Southington residents only. To register your child, please look for the “Children’s Programming” list on the right and click the link entitled “Children’s Programming Calendar.” Scroll down to locate the date for the first class. Remember to register your child for the age appropriate class. This is determined by using the child’s age on the date of registration.
At 9:00AM on the date of registration, a hand holding a pen will appear to the far right (if the hand does not appear, please refresh your screen). Click on the hand, making sure not to click the letter “D,” and enter your child’s name. Your name should not appear anywhere in the registration. Fill in your telephone number and click “save.” You should then receive a confirmation message. In order to complete your registration you must come to the library and sign the Attendance Contract. If you have any questions, please reply on this blog or contact the Children’s Department at 628-0947 X3.

A Great Opera-a-tunity!
February 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment
The people at Children’s Dance Theater Connection have been kind enough to offer Southington Library parents the opportunity to expose their children to the wonderful worlds of opera and dance. The Connecticut Lyric Opera, with musical accompaniment by the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, will present the opera Dido and Aeneas on Friday February 22, 2008 at 7:00PM. On this special night children registering through the Children’s Department of the Southington Library will get into the opera FREE! Parent tickets will be offered at the reduced rate of $10. The performance will be held at the Trinity on Main Arts Center in New Britain and free garage parking will be available. This is a terrific oper-a-tunity to expose your children to something different. For more information, please contact the Children’s Department at 628-0947 X3.
